Harrah’s To Reopen Binion’s Horseshoe April 1;
Property Gears Up For The World Series Of Poker

LAS VEGAS (March 29, 2004) Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: HET) today announced it will reopen Binion’s Horseshoe Casino and Hotel on April 1. The landmark downtown Las Vegas casino will open in time to host the 35th annual World Series of Poker, scheduled to begin April 22.

Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman will join Harrah’s Western Division President Tom Jenkin in a press conference at the Horseshoe’s Fremont Street and Casino Center entrance at 4:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, followed by the long anticipated opening of the casino doors. Live entertainment will be part of the festivities until 8:00 p.m., and complimentary cake and champagne will be served.

"We’re thrilled to get one of the world’s most famous casinos back up and running—and to get Horseshoe employees back to work," Jenkin said. "With national and international interest in poker at an all-time high, this year’s World Series of Poker is sure to be a record-breaker. We’re looking forward to building on the rich legacy of the poker world’s biggest event."

This year’s World Series of Poker is expected to be the largest and richest ever, with more than 1,000 participants expected to enter the $10,000 No Limit Hold’em event. The winner of this event (May 22-28) is expected to win a record $3 million.

The first World Series of Poker event, a Limit Hold’em tournament for casino employees, begins Thursday, April 22. The first official tournament open to the general public, a $2,000 buy-in, No-Limit Hold’em contest, begins Friday, April 23. A total of more than 7,500 entries are expected for tournaments that run between April 23 and May 21. Combined, the prize money for all these tournaments is expected to exceed $20 million.

Players interested in registering in advance for the tournament can do so by calling 877-FOR-WSOP and paying the registration fee via a wire transfer. Registration for the tournaments can also be done on site at the Horseshoe during the tournament.
