Nevada casinos saw a 1.8 percent increase in revenue last month when compared to October of last year. Revenue at Las Vegas Strip casinos was up 3.6 percent for the month.
Much of the Strip casinos' increase in revenue was due to an 11.3 percent rise in revenue from slot machines and a 174 percent increase in revenue from roulette when compared to October of last year. Revenue from Strip casinos accounts for about half of the state’s gambling business.
Revenue was up 8.3 percent at Boulder Strip casinos and Downtown Las Vegas casinos saw an increase in gross win of 0.8 percent.
According to the Nevada Gaming Control Board, the state has collected $281 million in taxes for this fiscal year, up 6.1 percent from the same period of last year
