Seminole Casino Coconut Creek Unveils $150 Million Makeover
The Seminole Casino Coconut Creek in Coconut Creek, Florida has undergone a $150 million makeover.
The casino had a grand opening on February 2, which featured star of ABC's "Extreme Makeover" Ty Pennington revealing the casino's new entrance way by having attendees shout "move that bus," plus the rock group Foreigner performed that night to inaugurate a new concert arena.
Employees had been working since November on all of the casino's new upgrades. Among the new features are a 2,400-space parking garage, an improved high-tech player's club, three new restaurants, a 1,220-seat indoor concert pavilion, an expanded slot floor and 65 table games, such as blackjack.
"You could take this casino as it sits today and drop it onto Las Vegas strip or in Atlantic City and it would be very successful and popular," said General Manager Steve Bonner.
Tribe representatives have said the next step in expanding the casino would be to build a hotel, but there are currently no concrete plans or timetables.
