Wildwood Casino Cripple Creek CO
Breakfast buffet was the best meal we had during a stay here. Other meals not so wonderful. Actually, their hotel is not on the premises, but up the street at the Gold King Inn which is very nice and affords beautiful mountain views. Wildwood has video slots and we usually break even there. Do like the garage parking and the food credits available to Miners Club players. Also like the free popcorn, soda and coffee machines. Ruby Tuesdays is their house restaurant, but we weren't too thrilled with their menu choices.
Wildwood Gone Down, Way Down
A weekend at the Wildwood casino was anything but enjoyable. After attempting to check in twice, we were told to come back later, because the computers were down. We were tired from traveling and the town does not really offer a place to go and relax unless your gambling. The pool and spa area was broken and no one mentioned this at check in or reservation time. The gift shop never opened and the food at the casino bar was stone cold and very limited, even 30 minutes after they opened. The staff smoked up a storm in the doorway, forcing customers to walk through a fog to get to their rooms, this was while the phones were ringing at the desk.. Sunday coffee was stone cold and I will never return. Remember Wildwood, 90% of advertising is "word of mouth". Make it right for your customers that drive a long time and spend their money.
restaurant
we had a great meal at the buffet. The wait staff was excellent. we are returning to enjoy another great buffet soon. We are taking along a couple of relatives to also enjoy the fun. we are looking forward to staying the night and experiencing the overnight stay.
Fireside kitchen
While enjoying friday evenings special at the Saddlebar Restaurant my attention was grabbed by a young man doing spin tricks with a bar rag at the very open to the public Fireside kitchen.
Wondering if he could spin a pizza in the same fashion i walked over and approached the man and asked him to make me the "goldmine" after that I sat back at my table in Saddlebar so he wouldn't notice me spying.
He proceeded to "play" with a dough ball as if it were modeling clay, focused and determined to make this ball into something edible. He than began to roll it out on his makeshift cutting board/work table after about a minute he began throwing the dough back and forth very fast between his hands making the dough bigger and bigger then all of a sudden threw the dough into the air and started bouncing it between his hands and then he caught it and maintained a spinning motion for about five seconds. He then turned his back to top the dough then after about ten seconds of acrobatics with a pizza spatula he cooked the pizza for about 6 minutes.
Let me tell you, awesome pizza, awesome show(FREE!) great times. Fireside kitchen is a great pizzeria.

Worst Brat & Coleslaw on the Planet
Fireside Kitchen 10-04-08. Beware of the worst Brat & Coleslaw on the Planet.
The Brat was boiled and tasteless and looked pale and uncooked. The bun was cold and dry. The colseslaw was also tasteless. The Brat should be grilled and brown. The bun should be warm and soft. The coleslaw needs more mayo and spices.
