Had a great time! Loosest slots around!

After reading some of the previous reviews, we were questioning if we should go or not. My husband LOVES to play dice and I LOVE the slots, so we decided to give it a try. We are so glad that we did! We had a GREAT time! The boat ride out was beautiful. My husband said he had the best time being able to play craps and the dealers were very friendly as well as all of the staff that I spoke with and I have never seen so many people winning on slot machines like they were here. The Chicken sandwich was delicious, the best I’ve ever had. It's also nice that the food and drinks were free. Only a $5.00 ticket price and they gave me a match play for the slots and my husband got one for the dice table. We will be back,it’s a great place for a night out. I usually don’t write reviews but being that we weren't going to go because of reviews and then going out on the Suncruz for myself and having a great time, I felt like I should post a review. Like my husband said, it is very hard to please a gambler if they're not winning, and everyone knows you don't win every time. Plus they take out thousands of people a month so how can you take a couple of reviews too serious? Can’t wait to go again!

Bil Validators Don't Work and They Won't Make Good

After stuffing dozens of $20 in their $1 slots with the biggest payout at $40, there was one $20 bill that didn't register in the bill validator. A young attendant then fiddled with the validator, put in another $20 that did register, took the money out, and then told me that since his $20 worked, then mine would have also worked and he could do nothing for me. He insisted that he wasn't calling me a liar, and then refused to get a manager to help me. I had to announce this robbery to the nearby patrons to then get the manager to appear with a bunch of goons that looked ready to toss me overboard. The manager must have checked the cameras and saw that I was the highest roller they had, losing over $1000 in just about 3 hours. So, he came over with 20 coins and said the attendant was wrong. On the return trip, I met a very elderly couple that had the same problem, but was rudely dismissed and never got reimbursed. So, this place is not only ridiculously tight, but is also a place for high-seas piracy. Unregulated, no laws to protect you at sea, this place is a nightmare I'll never go back to.

Rude front desk personnel

Recently had a great time on the SunCruz Casino. Went with my family to celebrate a special birthday. The only downfall was Bobby at the front desk who rudely told my 82 yr old dad to "pay attention when I ask you a question"! Really? This is how you treat your customers? Kudos to the rest of the staff for providing a fun experience.

Had A Great Time

We went on the Suncruz Casino boat in Port Richey last week and it was really fun! Our waitress was excellent and was right on top of getting our drinks! I never went without and the best part is that they are FREE while gambling!. The food was great and FREE! As for the slots I came out ahead $20 but My friend won $1800 on a quarter machine! All in all, it was a great time! We will be back!

I was in fla and went out on your curz ship just a couple of weeks ago, and i was playing let it ride and hit four of a kind and the dealer got very upset i won a thousand dollars, and my husband hit a straight at the same deal , and then he started getting nasty with my husband about everything he did , and my husband had told me at lunch about the same dealer doing that to two other guys at the table before that, i would of play more time if edmond wouldn’t got so nasty with us, and even the guy on the floor didn’t like we won, he told edmond that he should shuffle better, most dealer at least said congratulation on the win, so we just left the table with our winnings and didn’t play it back at all, so you can thank your dealer for that.

Had a Bad Time

They said this was Vegas Style Gaming. More like Reno style gaming better yet, this place makes the crustiest casino in Reno look like the high limit area at the Bellagio.
I don't recommend you go play there. Remember these places aren't regulated by any gaming commission so they work by their rules and the slots pay out however percentage they want them to pay out. Most likely you
will lose money so don't expect Vegas odds on anything. 18 foot craps table. Roulette with no Board. Blackjack with 9 decks...you get the picture?
I think the most positive thing was the boat ride to the boat where you can view the gulf. The ride will be quiet on the way back because everyone has lost money. Please just be warned if you decide to experience it for yourself.

Place stinks

If you like craps and have to get your fix go for it. But just know that this place is low rent. A table is a table on craps though. Dealers were rude and the waitresses were worse. Get out of this what you can. Free drinks and practically free ferry charter to the casino gives nice views of the gulf. Outside of that guard your wallet and keep to yourself. This place is low budget and no frills when you arrive.

First time on a casino boat

I visited the Suncruz Casino boat for the first time November 2011 and here is what I thought.

First of all the casino does not offer a hotel and a players club that I know of so my rating for those is n/a. I also did not get a chance to play any table games. This was my first time visiting a casino boat ever so I did not know quite what to expect.

The casino was very easy to find. There was a giant billboard marking the entrance off the main road ( US 19) in Port Richey and parking was not a problem. Once we parked and went into the waiting area we were greeted by a nice lady working behind the desk. At that time we presented to her the $5 free game play coupon we printed off of Sun Cruz website. She in turn asked for a $5 fee to get onto the shuttle boat. She also handed us a raffle ticket ( $50 free slot play drawings every half hour), a $15 dollar slot voucher for $10, a shuttle boarding pass, a voucher for a free meal, and a promotion coupon for a night we could not be there.

We had arrived about 30 minutes early so we had some time to sit around the waiting area. There was free coffee in the waiting area. After we waited a bit it was time to board the shuttle that takes us out to the casino boat parked 15 miles off shore. The shuttle boat had ample seating and there was coffee and soft drinks served as a snack bar on board. It took about an hour for the shuttle to reach the casino out in the Gulf of Mexico.

The shuttle boat was parked quickly and we got our first look at the casino. It was pretty smokey inside but that bothered my girlfriend more than I. The bottom deck where we entered housed a bunch of slot machines, the cashier, and a bar. We went upstairs right away to explore our options. The second deck had a few more slots, a bar, some table games, and was a little less smokey. I would compare each deck to about the size of a tennis court. Maybe a tad bigger.

We were hungry so we went to the bar upstairs and got our voucher out to eat. We could choose from about 10 menu items for free. I ordered a simple turkey sandwich and the girlfriend had a grilled chicken sandwich. The food was free but it was nothing special and came with a tiny bag of chips.

After we ate we wanted to hit the slots. They had a few of my favorites like wheel of fortune, double diamond, red white blue 7's, etc. All the slot machines in the casino were older and the ticket system is not used there. We cashed out in tokens or nickels if you were playing a 5 cent machine. Their slots also do not accept newer bills especially 5's with the red ink on them. Feeding the slots money was not always easy and had to exchange newer bills for old a few times. Most of the machines there were 25 centers and it seemed like most were single pay line with a max bet of 2 or 3 credits. There is one bank of nickel slots (maybe 10 total) and a few dollar slots scattered around (all wheel of fortune machines were $1 =( ). There were also a few $5 slots (maybe 10).

One really nice part of the experience was the free drinks. Unlike the local Hard Rock Casino in Tampa they do serve free drinks to those gambling. The drinks were pretty strong and easy to get. It reminded me of Vegas a little bit.

As far as the machines being any more loose then anywhere else I could not really comment. We were up and down all night until we had to leave. I guess that's to be expected.

At the end of the night after last call and they make you stop gambling it was pretty frustrating. You are 15 miles offshore and you have to wait for the shuttle to come back and get you then take it all the way back. What they ended up doing is driving the casino boat towards Florida to meet the shuttle half way so we wouldn't have to wait as long for it to reach us. That was nice that they do that. The only bad part is once you're no longer in international waters you can't smoke or gamble any more and have to follow Florida law.

After we reached the shuttle they docked it quickly and boarded us. The trip back to port in the shuttle was not bad. One thing they did when we got back was they unload the staff at the port before the customers. There is probably some logic behind this but it was a little frustrating at the time.

All and all I had a decent experience. I am glad that companies like this exist so we can gamble in more places. I thought I was going to like the "boat" part better then I did. The boat rocking back and forth sometimes (not all the time) while I was sitting at a machine got annoying a little bit. I can't truly say I will go back when there is more modern and convenient places to gamble but don't take that as a negative. I also live quite a ways away (2 hr drive) but I am glad I went.

Complaint about woman who answers phone

I called the phone number to get info. for my parents who are older. I asked times of departure, voucher info, length of ride, directions etc.etc. It is their first time going and know nothing about a casino on a ship/boat.

The woman who answered came across annoyed that I asked so many questions. She even put me on hold for 10 minutes. When I called her back I expressed my opinion and she mentioned that she will answer real /direct questions. EXTREMELY RUDE.

I explained that this was totally new to my parents, they wanted details and I was bringing them customers, therefore she should have been more patience and be more welcoming.

I suggest whoever runs this should train the women who answer the phone to have good customer service. Service is everything!!

I actually want to tell my parents not to go because they are NOT nice, however it would NOT be fair to my parents or Sun Cruz due to one employees bad mood. My ratings are not accurate since I've never been on the ship...The phone service is certainly a 1...

Suncruz Casino Boat In Port Richey

We had a wonderful time. The slots pay out sooooo much better the the ones in Tampa. I am on a fixed income and love that I don't have to report my winnings to the IRS. Smoke was not bad at all, they have air cleaners. Plus, free food and drinks. They have won my business. I will be a regular on the Suncruz in Port Richey.

Table was very large with only 1 side open (1 dealer, 1 stickman). There were enough players to warrant both sides of the table to be open, however they chose not to do this. Controlled shooting - not realistic being crammed together at one end. Won't be back anytime soon.

SunCruuz in Port Richey

Went out on the boat yesterday for the first time. It's definatly smaller than the others but we had a great time. They have no sea sickness due to their location. Machines were a little older but they pay out well. I hit a $6000 jackpot on a dollar machine!! I still can't believe it. That would never happen at the indian casino. And no taxes. My husband played craps and lost a little but he didnt mind because he was just happy to play dice. The best part of the trip was the fact that it was free. Free boarding, free drinks and food!!! We enjoyed the shuttle ride out to the big boat. We will definitely go back to Suncruz port richey.
