Table games wrong?
They have no PAIGOW POKER and been since 2005 that they did. Glad to see you deleted that in their listing.
Best Shreveport has to offer
This is still the best for VP although just a marginal play. We enjoy the open feel and actual cash back on our play. 1/8 of 1 percent isn't anything to write home about though. Still, won $4K last trip and even brought some home. We well try for the 4th of July to watch the Fire Works from our room. Wish they had a pool though!
El Dorado Poker room Tournament
I just wanted to drop a review of my time at the El Dorado Casino last night. When I checked in I need a Player's card which after a wait Only 2 people working there I got and they Offer You Nothing But a card. I got my card and Registered for the Tuesday Night Poker Tournament. It was a Small tournament with only 31 Players but it was a good time. I think David who oversaw things did a good job though he seemed a little bothered at times. Things seemed to move along well. Drinks came by fairly often though sometimes you were wondering where the ladies were. Food and Gift shops are just Upstairs so what I Got I enjoyed though a bit of a walk it was Good Exercise. I played roulette while there and thought the wheels were tight as they did not pay me at all. Overall it was a Good time But Nothing more than that.
Things need to improve
I have been at Eldorado since its inception. I was extremely pleased with the establishment until this last year. Seems they are attracting people that do not play, but come for hourly drawings. I see people all of the time getting drinks, just sitting at the the slots and never playing. I have asked if they are playing and they say they are playing the machine. When I ask for assistance from slot personnel, I am told, " That person spends a lot of money here and I can't bother them." Well, I spend a lot of money, too. I'm tired of the brush off and will take my $$$ to Horseshoe. Horseshoe treats me better and I'm not bothered by the riff-raff that hoards machines while sucking down drinks and not playing. Seems like waitstaff is catering to relatives or something. The free-loaders don't even tip, so what's up with that?
Getting better each trip
Last visit was 9/26/08 thru 9/27/08. This place has really improved since I started coming here. Now I'd say this is the best property in the area to visit. What's best about the casino is the tall ceiling.
You can't even tell this is a riverboat. Using the escalators to move from floor to floor is great. You don't have to climb into a crowded elevator or stairwell unless you want to. You can even get a pretty good drink fairly easy here. Wait staff is kind too.
Hotel was great. Not too bad for the price too. We stayed on the 17th floor and it was easy to travel up and down at any time. Very clean and upscale. We will stay here again.
Sat. morning champagne brunch buffet was the best buffet I'd ever had at any of the casinos in the area. If you visit the Eldorado, the champagne brunch buffet is a must!
There was even shrimp on the buffet! All for $13.50

Better Than Hollywood
This place is the old Hollywood Casino building. They chaged the decor a little. The 24 hour cafe is over priced but good. It's crowded, even at 3am.
Table limits were too high for my pocket. Many slots but no real payout for anybody I saw.
The staff is nice and you can get a drink fairly easy. Be sure to tip good or you won't see her again.
Walking distance to Sam's Town.
