Not to my liking anymore
Since their cut backs we move to the El, won't play there.
Hmmmm!!!!!
Don't let my ratings discourage you... I have only been to the Horseshoe one time in my life and the experience was not all that great. The first impression of this place was like... a shotgun wedding, being forced to do something you didn't wanna do, lol.
Anyways, here goes... I walked in and it was crowded like crazy... I assumed there was a show going on, but there wasn't anything. The slots were horrible and grimey, i'll just count that because it was a busy night. I didn't enjoy any of this honestly, but i only went on one trip to Lousiana... it wasn't my idea of fun.
Horseshoe for about 1 hour
I just wanted to add a review tho I was only there for an hour. I didn't have time to play much but I did spend 1 hour in the Poker room after getting my Player's card. I got my Players Card and automatically got 2 free buffets which I thought was "VERY COOL" as the El Dorado gave me a card and I got nothing from them. The Poker room though small was very well run. I was greeted and seated almost immediately. It was Tuesday night which was Military Appreciation Night so I gave them My ID and they gave me a gift and told me when I ordered food to let them know and they would take care of me. The Only problem I was informed of was the Food to Poker room service. I was told the Food came from the Hotel and therefore the Hotel people were taken care of 1st and the other people( Gamblers ) were at the end of the line. The guy beside me @ the poker table ordered a sandwich 2 hours ago and was still waiting he said. I was dealt a couple of Good Hands and won a few $$ @ the $1/$3 No Limit Hold 'em and it was time to go.
The ladies were coming by often for drinks. I didn't play any other games so I can't rate them. I did like the Horseshoe Poker room Better than the El Dorado so When I return to Bossier City I will probably stop here first.
great night in Bossier
4/8/2010 - we stopped at the horseshoe on a trip to NOLA. Thursday night was busy but not over crowded. Only played craps but that was plenty. Two tables were open and full, $5 min, 100X odds!!! & triple 12 field. perfect layout. We started with $300 and walked away with $1400 in about 3 hrs due mostly to a monster roll by a quiet man in a suit that held the dice for 30min+. Others left with $5K+ all by placing huge odds bets. The table was surprisingly quiet and the crew wasn't overly helpful but the win made it a blast. Drink service was good. The hotel rooms were huge, clean, and fantastic for the price. I plan on stopping at the horseshoe again. Didn't play slots or anything else, but they had a large video roulette station which looked interesting.
Horseshoe
I'm not a poker player so I gave it a 3.
The restaurants are excellent. The buffer is good, the cafe is great, however they no longer offer applewood bacon or home fried potatoes with their breakfast, these were to die for. The steak house wonderful service and great food (to much food you need to split sides orders). It isn't cheap. They don't have anywhere to get a snack.
Let it Ride is back. They added the 3 card poker "pairs bet" to the let it ride.
Waste of Time
Over-priced buffet is the best attraction. Slots are tight. I can't afford the tables here.
Forget about getting a drink. If you happen to get a drink, it's all ice.
Hotel is awsome! Huge rooms. Do wish the jacuzzi tubs were in the bed rooms like at Boomtown. They are in the bathroom.
Parking is easy!
Horses anyone?
They have removed the VP machines from the Downs, so now you're left with the slots or the horses.
The slots are so tight the nickels squeal when they occasionally do come out.
Horses anyone? BTW: The Buffet is still great!
Horseshoe Casino
Beautiful casino, suites are large and food is excellent. We love slots as well as card games here. One problem is no Let it Ride, my husband's favorite. People are very friendly here also.
