NH's new neighbor
We have driven 2 hours to Oxford every few weeks since early July. We find the Casino and its staff more than satisfactory.
The new room added many more slot machines as well as amenities including additional cashiers, restroom and a free beverage bar, well stocked and maintained.
The Casino and rest rooms are spotless and the staff makes us feel welcomed.
Keep up the good work!
Casino
For just being open a short time , this place will be hot, it's a great addition to the local economy, Our second home is close by on Norway lake so we have been going every weekend, Staff are
friendly and take the time to teach games when possible, although there are no hotels close by, within 30 miles there are all kinds of lodging and rest. and as I said before it's in a recreation area with many lakes, ponds & ski ares with mid-week and weekend rentals.
slots
I like this place very much. It is crowded at times but the other part will be open soon. I do not find the slots tight, just not enough at the moment. Lots of people leave by 9 and there are many slots available after that. I have been there over 20 times. Yes, a limited menu but very good.
small but fun
People are quick to complain. Yes it is small. No they are not allowed to comp drinks. Yes you have to step out to smoke. There is a good variety of slots. There are not many table games because this is the first phase and there is not enough space yet. I have gone with others 3 times and we always have fun. If you can't stand losing your money then you won't be happy in any casino. Given time and the expansion they plan it will be even better.
Better than Charlevoix or Montreal
First of all I'd say this casino as far as gambling goes is better than Montreal/Charlevoix for few reasons.
- You are allowed to drink in the gaming area
- $5 craps
- Low table minimums
- More recent slot machines
However, the casino lacking a hotel is problematic for travelers like me. The surrounding area does not have many restaurants or hotels.
The premises are very clean and modern. Big parking lot. Nice building too.
I did not find game king slot machines, so no blackjack, video poker or keno.. ? I suggest you call first and make sure they have the games you like.
I saw 1 craps table, 6x blackjack, 2x let it ride, 1x 3 card poker, 1x hold'em, 1x roulette. I am maybe missing one. They need a baccarat table bad for the Asian customers who love to play it. I understand they are expanding so we have to be patient.
The casino restaurant is fine as it is now for good reasons. The casino just opened, so they can't have a 10 page menu. They have pizza, pasta, burgers... phily cheesesteak was great.
Dealers are courteous but I have seen many mistakes over only a few hours at the BJ tables and Craps. Stickman was very fast, but I am a slow player :)
I will definitely travel to this location again ! Hopefully they keep allowing drinking and the low table minimums.
Don't know about the Players Club.
Etienne.
Don't bother
With no hotel onsite, a restaurant with the most limited menu I have ever seen, and no live entertainment, it has nothing to attract people from more than a short drive away.
Even if they add a hotel, why would anyone choose this as a destination?
The selection of hotels and restaurants nearby is almost non-exsistant, so I don't think this casino will be in business very long.
Is that all there is?
The room is small with not many table games, narrow aisles, slow drink service, few slots open, even in the afternoon. I live locally, so I'll try different hours, but wouldn't want to be stuck here on a bus trip. I did not try the food
crowded
I spent about two and a half hours with my $20.00. Left while I was ahead, started to get crowded and the availabe machines were not that interesting. It's an ok place to kill a few hours if you have people in town
not worth the wait
Went to the casino the 2nd night they were open. I was very eager to have another casino in Maine. The choice of machines to play was very poor, mostly pennies. Absolutly no gaming time for your money. Took forever to find someone to order a coffee. And as bad as hollywood slots has become as far as playing time goes, they have actually topped them on their second day. Didn't try gaming tables or hotel, but review form makes you fill in something.
