Excellent Casino

This is by far the best Casino around. They treat you very good, have good promos and all of our food is free and delicious. We do pretty good playing video keno. We go on an overniter every month.

Island Resort & Casino

The Island Resort & Casino (The Chip-In Casino) is a quite large place. They have a large selection of slots, about 300 hotel rooms, at least 3 restaurants, along with entertainment and a large poker room.

The slot selection is very good - you will find most any game you want to play. From my experience the slots are about average - not really tight but not really loose. I do well on some slot machines and I lose quite fast on others....so it seems like instead of some places setting their slots within a certain range - the Island has some that pay 75% and some that may pay 95%. It is a long casino - the slots seem to go on and on as you are walking but the building is fairly narrow. Although with about 2,000 slot machines give or take the selection is great. They have a fair amount of video poker machines but by % they have more slots and less poker than the average casino. Overall great selection - some machines have good paybacks - some do not - 4 out of 5 stars.

Table games on the other hand offers a nice selection as well but the games like Little River Casino and others use automatic shuffle machines which seem to alter the games. I have only had a couple winning sessions on BJ so I really don't play it much anymore there. The dealers are friendly - not overly friendly but they are fine. Just the automatic shuffle machines and you just don't seem to be able to win well on their tables. Their poker room saves them a bit - having one of the largest poker rooms in the UP of Michigan but sadly the last 2 times I was there it was closed up by 11pm or so. But they offer poker tournament games most nights of the week - and it is a nice place to play. Overall 3 out of 5 stars for table games as a whole.

Customer Service/Players Club is pretty good - the staff is quite knowledgeable and friendly. The comp system is fairly good - but their direct mailing system is very low compared to other area casinos. Overall though a fair amount of promotions, friendly staff - 4 out of 5 stars.

The overall Atmosphere is just average - it seems almost like a long airport runway with the slots going on for what seems like a miles but no real "special effects" to be had or anything - kind of plain overall. If you like Vanilla flavor the slot area has it. The table games are mostly quiet since most people seem to be losing. Only about 3 out of 5 stars.

The Hotel on the other hand is quite nice - reasonable rates - especially during the winter months. The rooms are clean and modern (especially the new tower built a couple years ago). They offer most everything you would expect from a nice 2.5-3.0 star type hotel.....and again friendly associates that are knowledgeable about their hotel and casino. 4 out of 5 stars overall.

Food & Drink was again fair. Their "bargain" restaurant offers the basic hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, etc - and good portions for a reasonable price. The food is average. Their "sit down" restaurant is a bit pricey for what you receive - again fairly average food. It is not a dive but I wouldn't brag about how great it is either. 3 out of 5 stars for average restaurants.

Overall a decent place to play - wide selection - some good slots - good place not to play table games - but a good hotel that makes it easy to stay overnight and have a safe enjoyable time.

First let me say I have gambled all over and this place by far is one of the worst payers.Slots are as tight as they come. I get 10 free spins on a bonus and win nothing???? How bad is that. Its a nice place but believe me you will pay for it. Skip the slots they are the worst.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great comps

This casino give the best value of points per dollar when it comes to comps. I have played at many casinos, and this one is the top of my list for points to dollar value. They also have the best grill with the least expensive prices within a casino.

Best Casino, best food, best hotel

This is the best Casino with the best promos in the USA. I played in all of Vegas and many in the US. You can't beat this the 12th largest Casino out of 1,567 casinos.

Great Casino

I have visited this casino for the past 16 summers. It has grown into a great, well-run casino. Each summer when I return I see new slots available. They really keep up with the trends. There is not a lot of video poker. The food is excellent in the restaurants and the snackbar.

If you visit in an RV, you do not have to use the RV Park. The casino has a huge parking lot and if you park on the edges, you are welcome to stay. I have stayed overnight many times, and there is no problem.

The golf course is 2 or 3 years old and is rated as one of the best casino courses in the US.

Good Time

Great place! Visited on my birthday and had a blast. The staff at this place are the best. When I told them it was my birthday they went out of their way to explain all the comps I had coming. Didn't win big, but still had a good time. Like Arnold said,"I'll be back".

Good time

Had a wonderful time. Food was exceptional. Lounge show was good.

My wife found the slots to be fun and they had? a lot of new games. Craps table was cold. but that's the way it goes. Rooms and service were excellent. Can't wait to go back.

Spent 1 night here

Of the 6 Michigan casinos I visited 3 weeks ago (others = Kewadin St Ignace, Kewadin Sault St Marie, Leelanau Sands, Turtle Creek, & Four Winds) driving through upper & lower Michigan, this was my 3rd favorite (after Four Winds & Turtle Creek).

Very nice staff & decent selection of slot machines (that's all I play). I stopped here one night with my family includig a 16 year old daughter. Two things I didn't like were:

1) My 16 y/o couldn't go anywhere without an adult as one needs to walk into the casino to get to everything including the ice cream shop.

2) My suite's "window" actually looked into the casino so the room was very dark. (This was only the lower floors so ask questions when you book. I was on the second flour, but I think the room number was in the 300s.)

The gambling age was only 18 so my 20 y/o son was free to go anywhere.
