Sad To See You Gone

We stayed at the Sahara for our honeymoon. And then we celebrated our 25th anniversary at the Sahara. We renewed our wedding vows. Had a limo ride anywhere on the strip; went to one of those "fancy" casinos but ended up back at the Sahara; it felt like home! We loved this place and was so sad to hear it closed. Wish we had one more stay there before they closed.

Another Icon gone!

I too was sad to see this classic place close. The buffet used to get some negative feedback, but I was a frequent dinner there. It lacked atmosphere for sure, and the food wasn't fancy, but you could get a nice Greek salad, big slice of prime rib there. Mashed potatoes, a couple of BBQ ribs, a piece of fried chicken, serve yourself drinks, and a nice variety of those little desserts. $6.99!

too old

The Sahara is a very old casino and hotel. I used to gamble there, but over the last 10 years, I hadn't been very impressed with the cleanliness or food while they were still open.

Gone, But Never Forgotten.

R.I.P. Sahara.

I got my first taste of this classic Vegas hotel/casino in April 2007 on my honeymoon. The low limits were just what we needed to enjoy some gaming.

Also made it a point to visit the NASCAR Cafe, which I will miss dearly. It was gimmicky, but I liked it for what it was. I'll also miss Speed The Ride as well.

Heck, there isn't much I won't miss about The Sahara. I really hope the gang gets it together and re-opens this place. That's what the rumors are, but time will tell.

Another piece of the North Strip gone, but never forgotten.

-Dale

Reasonably priced hotel

Our room was small clean and comfortable.

Cocktail waitress service could be a lot better - nearly died of thirst waiting for her.

Nice pool with jacuzzi which was quite quiet when we were there in April. It's a bit out of the way from all the other hotels on the strip but the monorail stops there.

Buffet is adequate for the money ($8.99 with a players card). There is a NASCAR cafe and an overpriced rollercoaster.

Lots of photos of old Vegas with old Vegas stars in them which add a touch of nostalgia to the hotel.

Best Roller Coaster

The roller coaster is the only reason to visit this place. Even that is priced too high.

Ride your money's worth, then throw up.

Retro fun

I have stayed at Sahara several times and find it to be a good value. It has a feel of the "old Vegas" that I find fun.

The location is not good, but it does have a monorail station. Not a fancy place, but a good place to stay and have a good time.

Casino renovation needed

I used to frequent the Sahara, but it seems like they need to make some upgrades to the casino.

sahara

At end of strip. Rooms ok for price. The buffet is ok. Table games ok and slots. Just another casino but part of where Las Vegas started.
