They can change the name, but it's still not worth the two block walk from the Strip. Bad pay tables on the video poker and just a few table games in this small casino. If you earn any points you can spend them right away in the gift shop with your card.
Not impressed but!
I was never impressed with the casino! No vibe, bad paytables on the video poker, few tables and not too many slot machines. Good location just off the strip on E. Flamingo. However the casino is being changed as the 777 takes over the casino.
Very pleasant experience
I spent a few hours playing here while in Vegas in June. I had never been in this casino before in three previous trips. It was well lit, bright, and very fun. Played blackjack until 5:00, when the craps table opened, and then craps for about an hour-plus. The dealers and supervisors at both games were knowledgeable, efficient, and extremely friendly. They could give lessons to the personnel at some of the bigger places, most notably the Caesar's/Harrah's corporate hotel/casinos. It's a small casino, but close to the Strip, on Flamingo just west of Koval, near Ellis Island and the Tuscany. Not that busy, not that big, but very nice.
I didn't do all that well or badly, winding up down a little, but I had a wonderful time thanks to the employees (including the player's club/cashier gals). Considering how well I was treated and the proximity to the Strip, I will give the hotel consideration for my next trip.
If you like a quiet bright casino this would be your place. I like JOB with 9/6 table so this is not one of my favorites. However the table games are better than the strip and the other vp is ok. It is close the the strip and Bally's, in the other direction you have the Ellis island and the Tuscany.
Nice Little Casino!
Very nice atmosphere in this casino, friendly staff. Casino comes alive at Happy Hour, late afternoon, early evening. LOW limits on table games during Happy Hour, tables are usually full, especially the crap table. Got a $25 match play for table games when I signed up at players club, Won $50 and only risked $25. Haven't seen the hotel or dined here, but I'm sure they're very nice.
Come here NOT to gamble
If you are attending a conference in Las Vegas and want to stay at a business hotel and get things done, then this Westin is for you. It is as close to the Convention Centre as it is to the strip. On many mornings, there are more people at the starbucks in the lobby than there are in the casino. Though there are table games, most seem to remain covered no matter when you visit...if you want a 24 hour casino, this is not your place. But as a quiet, business hotel (like any other Westin in North America), and want "the heavenly bed" more than you want a 3:2 blackjack game, then stay here.
One of my favorite spots
Nice quite casino with very good customer service and very friendly drink service. My favorite break from the noise and crowds in the strip casinos. Hotel rooms are small..... but nicely appointed and have the "Heavenly Bed"
Quiet is Good for Me
Off the strip, non-smoking, low noise casino. Restaurant is good. Low limit tables with good Blackjack odds.
Nice, but small. If you want a quiet, subdued casino experience, this is it. Low minimums, tables always seem to be available.
