Vegas style casino in Albuquerque
My wife and I stopped in at this casino on a recent swing through New Mexico in Sept. We had visited the place a couple of years before so were aware of its location and decor. The place really resembles a Vegas casino and is well designed, colorful, and very attractive. However, the slots really don't pay anything so go there for the ambiance because you won't win any money.
The pool area is really nice and and I would have liked to visit one of the rooms but didn't take the time. I would think that this casino would be a really nice destination for a weekend or a couple of days off, as they have entertainment along with all the casino ammenities and several restauants. We did not eat there so cannot comment on the food but it's really a beautiful casino and from what I read, the largest in New Mexico. Would spend a weekend there if I had the opportunity for a little R & R.
Save your money...Go elsewhere.
Our family has frequented this resort for over 10 years and up until 2010 found it to be a fun way to spend some time and enjoy the thrill of gambling.
However, over the course of this year, 2010, we have noticed that this casino has dropped in customer satisfaction, cleanliness, and play time on the slots is no longer enjoyable as the payouts are minimal, and usually slim to none anytime we go in, which is usually 2 or 3 times a month or more.
The last time we were there, over Christmas, not only were there absolutely no payouts, (to us or anyone else that we could see), but our car was vandalized in their lower deck parking area and several items were stolen.
We will definitely be taking our patronage (and money) to other resorts from now on.
Good casino...
This is a good overall Casino in Albuquerque. The location is excellent and the views of the mountains are nice. We stay each year for a week in May / June. The hotel is extremely nice. Make sure to get a slot club card as the room rates are much lower with the card. The slots are not very loose but I did see some good winners. They have a nice poker room. No alcohol is served to you when playing the games (I guess the NM law). There are bars around the casino so you can still get your favorite drink. The blackjack tables were crowded because they do not have many tables. If you will be using the SPA, call ahead to reserve a time. My wife and I went the week after Memorial day and there were no time slots open in the SPA the whole week. The food is average here. The food is cheap so you get what you pay for. If you rent a car, there are plenty of good restaurants within 5 miles of the casino. The final thing is the golf course and I am saving the best for last. The golf course is a great golf course with challenge for every level. It is the best golf course I have ever played on. Also, there is a restaurant next to the golf pro shop that has excellent food. Don't miss this.
