awful casino
resorts world sucks. the slots don,t pay, forget about comps, you can drop thousands of dollars and you don,t even get a meal, i was told they don,t comp but i do get a monthly mailer and that's for spending thousands and by the way my, mailer was $20.00 in slot play and $10.00 food credit talk about cheap. stay away
Tough to Win Here
The place is beautiful, the food options are very good, but I won't go here again because I don't think I can win here. The machines are very tight and I feel I am throwing away my money. I don't feel that way in downtown Las Vegas and Mohegan Sun. I do OK when I go to Yonkers but not here. Stay away and if you must go do it in the daytime.
good
i was there a few times since it opened. Love the 50 cent and 25 cents slots that are 2x, 3x, 5x, 4x there is always a line to get these machines. Very popular. Safety concern is an issue, but only go in the day time. I think the casino is beautiful for Queens. Had no problems with staff, all were sincere. Will be back there again soon, I hope.
Don't waste your money
Keep your hard earned money and don't waste it at Resorts World. The slots are so tight and you will surely loose your $$$. As far a newspaper reports saying they pay out,it's not slots because a lot of people look like they are addicts looking for their next fix at this place. It's scary and easy to get hooked. I won't be going back.
GAMING IN GENERAL
When is New York State going to become a gambling paradise when they conduct a sham regarding slots and video poker. Why have they not adopted the rules and regulations of venues such as Atlantic City, Connecticut, Las Vegas and Pennsylvania by introducing RANDOM NUMBER GENERATORS in their slot and video poker machines. The State dupes the puble by utilizing the VIDEO LOTTERY TERMINAL machine instead of the RANDON NUMBER GENERATOR. The State relies on the public who have no knowledge of slot/video poker machines. The VLT is controlled by by a Central Computer in Albany and controls the winners in each machine. What a sham! Instead of letting the public play the properly controlled RNG machines the State wants to reap in additional funds by pretending the public are playing honestly programmed machines. Instead, the State is controlling the number of winners.
The Connecticut, Atlantic City and Pennsylvania casinos appear to be doing exceptionally well without reverting to behind the wall shenanigans such as VIDEO LOTTERY TERMINALS. I believe the State should allow private enterprise to operate any of the New York State Lottery operated casinos without interference from the State Lottery Commission. I rather travel two hours and know that I am getting an honest game.
Thank you for your attention.
who is running this place?
the casino needs new managers to run it. their is no security it's to loose. they let me in without checking my bag. too many teens are going up in there just to drink. the slots don't pay anything and they need more cash machines and more slots and slots cash and change machines. i believe in giving a casino time to open but it took me 2 hours to get there from manhattan and i didn't even get a soda from the casino. it's the worst i've been to in a long time.
Doesn't give you much fun
Have been there 4 times now. Usually on a saturday morning. Always pretty busy. Was there today and just have to say, had a horrible time.
The first time I went I was surprised by the prices on the slots. Most of the penny machines have max bet, which you need to bet for bonuses, above 2 bucks. There are 3, 4 and 5 dollar max bet penny machines. The quarter and dollar machines can be astronomical. could see this if there was some money coming back but that doesn't seem to happen much. An example, The Big Green Money Machine, a dollar per wheel bet usually pays out in dollars and I have had pretty good luck with it at other casinos. Here it pays out in quarters, you place a 5 dollar bet and quarters are coming up on the wheel, seems a little insulting.
After the first trip I got over the price shock and accepted it just like one excepts everything else being overpriced in NYC. Obviously the market will bear them because the place is always packed.
Their rewards cards are a must because you can only use half of the casino without one. The problem, even at 11 am the line for the cards is 50 people long. If I'm stopping in for an hour do I really want to stand in line for another hour just to get a card? You can't even go upstairs to the second half of the casino without the second tier card. How do you get that, by getting enough points. How many points do you get for play, no idea. Can't find any concrete info on that. So I stand in line for an hour to get the first card, do stuff to get points and then stand in line for an hour to get the upgraded card. I guess that's how it works, there isn't any info on the whole system.I really only want to pop in and have some fun for an hour not stand in line for hours. The first three times I was there the garage parking was free, now it's supposedly free with a rewards card. They don't tell you that. So I go to leave and there are kiosks that you are supposed to pay or present your card before you leave. I went to the ones on my level and they were broken so I had to go back downstairs. There was one of two working there and another line of about 10 people. water and when I got to the machine there was a kid there to show people how to use it. He put my ticket in and it didn't work. He said to tell the guy on the way out that the ticket was bad. Right, have you ever gotten up to a gate with your unvalidated ticket and thought if you just told the guy your ticket was broken he would just let you go. So I go out and tell the guy and he says " I have to have your rewards card to prove your ticket is defective." He finally let me out after I got a little hyper about that.
Don't even get me started on the half hour I had to sit at a machine because my ticket was stuck and no one came by to help.
I remember when the point of a casino was to make you feel good even though you just gave them all your money. So far from the point at this place. It's too bad too because the combo of the casino and watching the races could be so much fun.
EXTREMELY POOR VIDEO POKER
Another New York State scam. This place carters to only the slot player and electronic gaming tables. The video poker machines are virtually non-existent. There are perhaps a maximum of six machines and they are of the $1.00 variety and all Double Bonus and THAT IS IT. Unless you venture to the bar on both floors where traditional (9/6 and deuces wild are located. But if there is a football game you can forget about a space. This place is an absolute disgrace. VIDEO POKER PLAYER; STAY HOME. I did notice that the poker bar machines did offer 25 and 50 version of poker but most are $1.00. When this place was planned it certainly did not take the video poker player into consideration. The place is swamped with slot machines. Here is another disgraceful disdain for the player. While at the bar playing a $.25 poker game the only drinks free are: coffee and soda and that is it. They do not even have bar snacks for the patrons. Furthermore, these are not true video poker machines as they have in Atlantic City, Connecticut or Pennsylvania. The machines are controlled by a central computer in Albany (LOTTERY.) Case in point was when I was dealt a flush with a possible straight flush. Strategy says to discard the non-sequential card to improve your hand to straight flush but when you do this, you return to the original flush draw. This means that the Albany computer had you winning a flush but could not improve further. Don't tell me this is not a sham.
Security guard
I went there last Saturday. The worst experience ever .. the Security guard lady in the afternoon was EXTREMELY RUDE She didn't have any experience or no metal detectors. She acted like she owned the casino. She had very poor judgement toward people..I have gone to the Aqueduct track for many years and never got treated like that until now.
No Deuces Wild, Bonus Poker, Joker Poker except $
This is New York and there are no MULTI Video Poker machines on the floor!! They have a bonus card poker machine which is not what every other casino AC, Conn., Vegas!!! The floor people and customer service have no clue and you cannot get to a multi video poker at the bar because everyone is watching the football games and not playing!
Slots need to loosen up more
I spent a lot in a few minutes and no returns, usually i win a bit, but these machines, especially the roulette, is rigged to pay out crap.
Horrible experience...
The Worst experience ever. I live like 15 minutes away from the casino but will never go back. I will stick with Empire City and AC.
Why should we go there spend money and get treated like S#!T. The Big lady Security guard was EXTREMELY RUDE and insulted us. Hope they fire her soon. Also did not feel safe there at all. Will only consider going back there if we read or hear in news that they made a major reform there about the security's attitude towards customers....
Worth a visit
Casino is beautiful and impressive. I saw no problems with security or personnel safety but this is NYC, so there should be more visible security personnel in the parking garage; floor staff is raw but hopefully will improve with time; food court is bright and clean and reasonably priced for a casino; unfortunately, like Empire City in Yonkers, the slots are all electronic and multi-line types unlike Atlantic City and Mohegan Sun where you can find single line penny slots (double diamonds, triple double diamonds, five times pay, etc) which really pay nice when you hit; too few penny slots and the ones that exist are pretty much all the same.
Parking garage needs better signage so that finding your car is easier, but they seem to be still working on improving the garage; not enough cash out machines; you do not accumulate free slot cash as you play; i don't play table games so I can't rate them, but there does not seem to be enough of them for the people who wish to play.
After an hour or two I was bored. For me, it lacks the fun and excitement that exists at traditional casinos.
this place is NOT safe!!
Went here this past Saturday. What a nightmare! Definitely NOT SAFE! It is a disaster waiting to happen!!!! NO METAL DETECTORS!! There were gang members everywhere flying their colors. I can only imagine how many were packing a weapon. All there needs to be is two gangs there at the same time and a shootout to occur. Did not feel safe going to car. My husband and I LOVE to gamble and will spend 8-10 hours in a casino no problem. We left after about 1/2 hour. Will not be going back anytime soon-if ever. I will stick to AC, Conn or Vegas. Also hardly any video poker machines.
BigDon393
Went for the first time this morning. The casino is beautiful., well lit, with a nice assortment of machines. They have a nice food court with a Stage Deli, a Burger place, an Asian stop and a few other options. The buffet looked very nice and professional but we didn't eat there because we were not ready for a big meal. Since the place is brand new people really have to be patient and give them time to get their act together.
The second floor is not open yet where they plan to have many restaurants.
The only thing I did not like was many of the penny machines did not give you the option from going from one to two units. For instance on a 1-cent 50 line machine I could bet 1 unit, but if I wanted to increase my bet I couldn't go to 2 units, but had to go to 5.
A much classier place than Yonkers and if you live in Bklyn, Queens, Nassau or Suffolk you avoid the tolls.
Give it a try, I think you will like it.
Not a True Casino
I was here on Sat, October 29, 2011 the first day it opened. At first impression of this place, was that they were not prepared for their grand opening. To sign-up for the Genting Reward card was an ordeal. Only one person, registering new players, no free play reward for joining, no free pens, or bric-or-brack ugh.. Only soda, and juice are free alcohol drinks are $2.50 & up. My $1.00 slot machine did not pay even though I have the max bet $3.00 for the any color sevens. The attendant accused me of changing the machine an did not pay. I left and will not return, the vibe is the same as Empire. Everything is electronic! The staff are not professional and have no Casino hospitality! Do not wast your time go to either, Foxwood, AC, or Penn were the professional are!
Aqueduct
Needs improvement. Might get nicer if they ever add slots. Lots of people looking forward to it.
