In this month's casino profile we visit a favorite locals' casino, Jerry's Nugget, located in North Las Vegas.

Also, we are trying to put together a "Meet & Greet" event for Las Vegas in late March. The event would include me and one (or two) other gaming writers in an open forum answering questions from the audience. Look for more info next month.

The podcast this month is with David Schwartz, Director of the Center for Gaming Research at UNLV. David has put together a very unique collection of gaming-related material and I am sure you will find that it has something of interest for everyone - even you!

Our guest gaming writer this month is Henry Tamburin who takes a close look at various crap bets to determine their true cost to the player.

And, finally, look below for details on my 10-minute video on You Tube where I answer the most common questions that players have about slot machines.

The talk will begin with a discussion on how slots and video poker machines work and the best strategies for playing them. I will then cover all of the major table games including blackjack, craps, roulette, and baccarat. Besides giving information on how to play those games I will also discuss the best winning strategies for each game.

The American Casino Guide has a new podcast show each month. Hosted by American Casino Guide author, Steve Bourie, each podcast runs about 30 minutes and features Steve interviewing a knowledgeable guest from the world of casino gambling.

For the January podcast Steve interviews David Schwartz, Director of the Center for Gaming Research at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. They discuss some of the materials contained in the Gaming Research collection, plus they talk about some of the unique documents and artifacts that are featured on the Center's web site.
