August Gambling Podcast - Advantage Players Versus tthe Casinos with Bill Zender. The American Casino Guide has a monthly podcast hosted by the book's author, Steve Bourie, who talks about topics of interest to travelers who like to visit casinos and during the course of each show he interviews a special guest from the world of casino travel or gambling.
For the August podcast Steve interviews casino consultant Bill Zender who advises casinos on how to protect themselves from advantage players who are trying to get an edge by using legal methods. They discuss how the players attempt to get that edge in various games such as blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, slots and video poker. El Cortez: Celebrates the El Cortez Strawberry Festival by dishing out FREE Marie Callender’s Strawberry Pie on Saturday, August 8. The promotion allows Club Cortez members to enjoy FREE strawberry pie while they play slots and table games. The complimentary pie slices will be served from noon to 6 p.m.
M Resort: M Resort Spa Casino and the M Pharmacy, in partnership with the Southern Nevada Health District, Bayer HealthCare and Desert Springs Hospital, will host a FREE, one-day health fair on Thursday, August 13 from 1-8 p.m. The fair is open to the public and will be held in the Milan Ballroom. A variety of vendors will be participating in the fair offering health screenings and resources including screenings for blood pressure, glucose (blood sugar), bone density, foot, vision and skin cancer. The M Resort features a full-service pharmacy, open 365 days a year from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. In addition to filling prescriptions, the pharmacy also provides proactive health screenings. Guests staying at the resort have the option of visiting the pharmacy to pick-up their prescriptions or having them delivered, whether they are in their rooms or on the casino floor. In addition, iMagine Rewards Club Members are able to purchase their prescriptions using points earned on their iMagine card.

Imperial Palace: Welcomes another sizzling summer season of the poolside, Imperial Hawaiian Luau. In its 18th year, the open-air dinner show features an all-you can eat buffet, all-you-can drink adult beverages and a souvenir Pagoda cup for every ticket holder. The Hawaiian Imperial Luau performs every Tuesday and Saturday through Sept. 29. Tickets for the Imperial Hawaiian Luau are on sale now at the Imperial Palace box office, or by calling 702-731-3311. Stratosphere: Announced the addition of bikini blackjack to the newly renovated pool area. Bikini blackjack is available Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 7:00 p.m. and will last throughout the summer. In addition to the new blackjack tables, the area offers a large resort swimming pool, hot tub, newly upgraded cabanas, bar, and bikini-clad blackjack dealers. Additional daily poolside activities include, pool volleyball tournaments, water balloon toss and beer pong tournaments. The café recently launched a tasty new lunch menu, which includes gourmet salads and sandwiches, as well as an upgraded bar menu with a variety of specialty cocktails. The outdoor pool area is located on the 8th floor of the Stratosphere and is open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
