Atlantic City’s total gaming revenue for the month of May was $263 million, a 9.5% decrease from May of last year. Without including Revel, revenue was down 14.3% from last year.
Revel’s gambling revenues were $13.4 million in April, the casino’s first full month in operation, and it brought in $13.9 million last month. The casino ranked eighth among Atlantic City’s dozen casinos.
Gambling analysts say June will be the real test of how Revel will perform, since its hotel and 14 restaurants will be open and the casino’s 55,000-square-foot shopping complex will be opening in phases over the summer.
