Perhaps most important to Atlantic City’s attempt to out-do Pennsylvania casinos is the formation of the Atlantic City Alliance. After 30 years of shore casinos competing mostly against each other, the casinos will now pool some of their money to create a unified marketing campaign designed to fend off new competition to the area, such as Pennsylvania.

Atlantic city will also be rolling out a new marketing campaign designed to highlight the fact that people can go to the beach, see a concert, go shopping, visit the circus and gamble — all without getting back into their car.
“Well, I’m not sure we’re at the bottom, but we can see it from here,” Tropicana Chief Executive Officer Tony Rodio said. “I really think you are going to see people come back to Atlantic City, as people are reminded that it’s a one-stop shop for a lot more than gambling.”
