Harry Kakavas, a Gold Coast businessman, claims that the casino knew he had a gambling problem and continued to lure him back to take advantage of him.
Between June 2005 and August 2006, Kakavas lost over $1.479 billion at the casino, including one visit where lost $164 million in just five and a half hours.
Most of his losses came from playing baccarat.
Kakavas’ attempt to recover $20.5 million from the casino failed in Victoria’s Supreme Court and also on appeal in May. He must now go to Australia’s High Court to try and recover his losses.
