“Our attorney had been informed by B.B. King’s counsel that the venue is going to close this month,” said Yvette Monet, an MGM Resorts spokeswoman.
The owner of the club, Beale Street Blues Co. Las Vegas LLC, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization in February and later sued the Mirage over a lease dispute in bankruptcy court after the casino tried to evict them. The B.B. King business filed a motion to voluntarily dismiss the bankruptcy case and the case will go before a judge in early December.
The restaurant and club, which opened at the Las Vegas casino in December 2009, is expected to close Sunday. The club held a meeting last week to inform employees that November 11th would be its last day of operation.
