The deal should be complete by the end of the year, and Boyd CEO Keith Smith says the company’s profits are expected to go up immediately.

“The properties operate in locations with limited gaming supply and stable tax and regulatory environments, resulting in attractive (profit) margins,” said Smith.

Boyd may have to make payments if Peninsula’s Kansas Star casino reports earnings before taxes, interest and other factors above $105 million in 2015.

At the end of last year, Boyd Gaming owned 16 casinos in Nevada, Illinois, Indiana, Mississippi, Louisiana and New Jersey.
