The center named “Project Linq”, would include new dinning and commercial space plus a promenade leading to a a giant Ferris wheel in the back of the property. Developers say the proposed 550-foot “observation wheel” will feature 32 enclosed cabins with capacity for 30 people each and will provide panoramic views of Las Vegas valley.
In addition to the world’s largest Ferris wheel, the project also involves a partial renovation of Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino and O’Sheas Casino‘s facades, as well as the creation of 326,000 square feet of retail, dining and entertainment venues between the Imperial Palace and the Flamingo.
Officials and representatives of Caesars Entertainment International announced that construction works for the 326,000-square-foot project will begin this month. Caesars officials say construction for will take 18 months and create 3,000 construction jobs. Upon its completion in the first half of 2013, “Project Linq” is expected to create 1,500 permanent jobs.
