“It is thrilling to see our new gaming floor and amenities take shape while we also prepare for our live racing schedule to start on April 19,” said Thistledown General Manager Rick Skinner in a statement.

Together with Rock Gaming of Detroit, Caesars has spent $88 million on upgrades for the new Ohio casino. Thistledown will now feature 1,150 slot machine-like video lottery terminals and six restaurants.

Caesars and Rock Gaming also operate two other Ohio casinos, the Horseshoe Cleveland and the Horseshoe Cincinnati.
