Cantor Gaming will be taking over operations of the race and sports book beginning February 7th. According to President and CEO of Cantor Gaming Lee Amaitis, the terms of the deal require his company to pay a fixed rent while the Palms would “participate in the handle.”
The deal also calls for Cantor to build a new sports book and install its mobile wagering technology all over the Palms, including in guests’ hotel rooms.
Amaitis did not want to predict when construction on the new sports book would be complete, but did say construction of the Cantor sports book at The Venetian, another Las Vegas casino resort, took 60 days.
It is not yet known whether the book will be closed immediately for work to begin or they will wait until after the NCAA men’s basketball tournament concludes in early April.
