As part of the huge construction project, there will also be a conference center with a 20,000 square foot ballroom; an upscale steakhouse; a buffet; a lobby lounge; a retail store; a new high end gaming salon; an elegant spa and exercise facility; outdoor pool with cabanas, bar, fire pits and event space; and parking garage with 1,100 spaces.
“It’s all about building experiences here that are very, very unique, that you won’t find anywhere else in Tucson,” said Mark A. Birtha, president and chief development officer of Sol Casinos.
Casino Del Sol is owned by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, a federally recognized tribe with more than 17,000 enrolled members and a reservation located in southwest Tucson. The Tribe also owns and operates the Casino of the Sun. The tribe also owns the AVA Amphitheater, a 5,000-seat open-air concert venue, and the Del Sol Marketplace, which includes a gas station and car wash, convenience store, and smoke shop.
