“When the flood hit we had two weeks to get everything out of here,” said Casino CEO Bill Walsh. “The water sat in here quite a while and everything turned to mold. So we had to literally gut the entire building.”
The Iowa casino’s 6,800 square foot restaurant has now been converted into a contemporary casino with 80 slot machines. An additional 100 machines will be added at a later date.
Construction will begin on the building that will house the permanent casino in March and it is expected to be completed in about 18 months. When complete, the new casino will be larger than the original and offer more slots as well as table games.
