Casino Revenue up 42 Percent in New York in 2012

During 2012, which was the New York casino’s first year in operation, the Resorts World Casino at Aqueduct generated $667.7 million in net sales. This accounted for over 37 percent of $1.8 billion in total net combined revenue generated by the state’s nine racetrack casinos.

All of New York’s nine casinos showed higher revenue over last year except for Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway, which faced increased competition from Resorts. Net revenue at the Yonkers casino was down 13.4% in 2012 when compared to 2011.

New York’s traditional lottery games mostly saw declines or stayed relatively flat.
