Deadwood casino revenue falls for seventh consecutive month

Out of 14 cities with legalized gambling in South Dakota, Deadwood has the most casinos with 34 gaming facilities. Total gaming revenue at Deadwood casinos totaled $9.7 million in July, down from the $10 million reported in July, 2010.

Numbers show that slot machines revenue represents about 90% of the total gambling revenue, however, slot revenue decreased 3.5% in July, closing the month in $8.9 million, compared to $9.2 million in 2010. Table game revenue was $781,896 in July, down from $833,719 last July.  For the year, Deadwood casinos report a  $44 million loss, 6.8% decrease from 2010.
