“On a regular and routine basis,” read the indictment, the boat’s operators “unlawfully opened and operated the casino aboard the Vessel within the state waters of Georgia and South Carolina.”
The cruise operator’s boat, The Diamond Royale, offered 18 tables for poker, craps, blackjack and roulette wheels and 240 slot machines. According to the Diamond Casino’s website, all cruises have been cancelled “due to remodeling of the boat.”
Prosecutors say that from July 2010 to November 2011, the illegal cruise brought in about $7 million which they feel the government is now entitled to. They also want to see the boat itself seized.
