The state’s two current casinos, the Casino at Ocean Downs and Hollywood Casino Perryville, are performing below expectations.

State lawmakers in Annapolis are considering bills to expand gambling in Maryland, which supporters hope will help the state stay competitive in the region’s gaming market.

Both West Virginia and Pennsylvania currently offer both slots and table games.
