The Flamingo says the casino expansion also connected the hotel’s Margaritaville restaurant to the rest of the 3,500 room hotel. “We’ve taken a dark, empty hallway, brightened it up and made it useful,” said Caesars Entertainment Corp. Regional President Rick Mazer.
The Flamingo has invested $10 million to add 220 slot machines, 22 table games and the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar. The casino will operate under the Flamingo’s gaming license and Margaritaville will receive royalties from the hotel based on performance.
This partnership will offer Margaritaville an opportunity to introduce itself to the gaming world before its first stand-alone casino opens in Biloxi, Mississippi sometime next year. The property will have 60,000 square feet of gaming space as well as a restaurant and event center.
The Margaritaville casino’s official grand opening will be on October 14th and in honor of the event, the restaurant and casino will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest Margarita ever made.
