River county casinos, which includes Tunica casinos, brought in $91.2 million last month compared to $101.5 million in September of last year.

“You see discretionary spends in households go down and gaming is part of that,” said Webster Franklin, president and CEO of the Tunica Convention and Visitors Bureau on the revenue drop. “We’re hoping it’ll turn around, and we have to position ourselves to be ready for that to happen.”

This is the first year that these Mississippi casinos have seen more than one month of gross gaming revenue being under $100 million.
