Deadwood casinos saw a 9 percent increase in revenue in December when compared to December 2011, bringing total gross revenues for the month to $7.8 million.
Revenue was also up for the year in Deadwood, with casinos bringing in $107.3 million, a 6.43 percent increase from 2011.
Table game revenues were up as well, increasing my 17 percent from 2011 to $10.4 million and revenue from slot machines was up 5.4 percent for the year. Deadwood casinos recently increased the maximum bet at table games to $1,000.
“Those are really encouraging numbers for Deadwood,” said Chuck Turbiville, president of Deadwood Lead Economic Development. “I think what we’re seeing is the economy is starting to get a little bit better. People feel more confident in their futures.”
