The Rivers Casino brought in $177.5 million after being open for only six months, while the Grand Victoria brought in $256.9 million for the entire year.
While it is still the top casino in the state, this was a significant drop in revenue from last year’s $293 million. According to the Illinois Gaming Board, Rivers Casino was the third highest grossing casino in the state for 2011.
As a whole, casino revenues for the state of Illinois were up by $103 million, bringing it to a total of $1.48 billion. The state also received an additional $17 million in gaming taxes.
