According to the documents filed with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Hard Rock International’s $275 million project will start with approximately 54,000 square feet of casino space and 200 guest rooms. The new Atlantic City casino would be built in phases and includes a an expansion plan that would add another 650 hotel rooms plus additional gaming space. The Boardwalk casino would also bring other features when fully developed, including several restaurants, bars, spa and beach cabanas and Hard Rock’s traditional rock-and-roll museum.

Hard Rock International is the first company to file an application to build one of the two small scale resort & casinos allowed under the new state law. Previously, the law required a minimum of 500  rooms for casino construction. Under the new law, smaller casinos could now have as few as 200 room.

Hard Rock International, which is owned by the Florida-based Seminole Indian tribe, also operates Seminole Hard Rock Hotels & Casino Tampa and Seminole Hard Rock Hotels & Casino Hollywood, in Florida, as well as hotel-casinos in Biloxi and Las Vegas.
