Harrah’s Cherokee Casino and Governor Sign Compact to Allow Live Table Games

Harrah’s Cherokee Casino and Hotel opened in 1997 and has generated money for individual tribe members and Cherokee tribal projects. It already employs 1,760 people and the addition of new games will make another 400 new jobs, Perdue and the tribe say.
“This will mean additional dollars going directly to school districts, and it will provide an economic boost for western North Carolina,” said Perdue in a statement. “I urge the General Assembly to act so that we can quickly start receiving the benefits of this expansion.”
