With about 800 positions to fill, the Plaza Las Vegas is hosting a two-week job fair beginning Monday, June 27, through Friday, July 1, and again Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, July 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Daily. The job fair is held across Main Street from the Plaza at the Las Vegas Club Hotel and Casino, 18 East Fremont, in the banquet rooms on the third floor of the North Tower.
Available jobs range from entry-level to management positions, including gaming, hotel, casino, food and beverage and marketing positions, all scheduled to start employment this August.
On the fist day of the fair, officials of the Plaza Hotel & Casino were forced to suspend online processing applications due the overwhelming interest in the available positions. In the first day of the job fair, the online application site received more than 25,000 hits, which overwhelmed the website. Additionally, more than 8,000 additional applications were received this Monday.
“While we expected a large turnout, the response to our job fair surpassed even our highest expectations. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work to process everyone’s applications” said Henry Terry, director of human resources.
Late last year, the Plaza Hotel and Casino began a renovation project that includes brand new guestrooms and suites, an entirely remodeled casino floor and lobby, along with new restaurants and entertainment options. Opened in 1971 at the intersection of Main and Fremont Street, the Plaza has been an iconic hotel in the heart of downtown Las Vegas for more than 40 years. The property sits on 16.5 acres of land and has 1,037 rooms and suites, making it one of the largest hotel & casinos in downtown Las Vegas.
