The Kansas casino will now have to pay the state 24 percent of its gambling revenue, as opposed to the usual 22 percent, because of its higher annual revenue.
If the casino’s revenue exceeds $220 million in a fiscal year, its tax rate will be increased an additional 2 percent.

The casino has continued with healthy-looking numbers through 2013, bringing in $19 million in March, $17 million in February and $16.4 million in January.
The Kansas Star has generated a total of $241.6 million in revenue since it opened in December 2011
