“All of us remember what Katrina did, what Rita did … what Gustav did. I think we’re very fortunate,” said president and chief executive officer of Pinnacle Entertainment Inc., which owns L’Auberge, Anthony Sanfilippo. “We had some high water, but it could have been much worse.”

L’Auberge is Pinnacle’s fourth Louisiana casino to open. Other properties include Boomtown Casino & Hotel Bossier City, Boomtown Casino New Orleans, and the L’Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles.

The new Baton Rouge casino features a 74,000-square-foot casino with 1,500 slot machines, 50 table games and a poker room. The property also has a 12-story, 205 room hotel, 4 restaurants, a casino bar and an 800-space parking garage. The casino and hotel overlook the Mississippi river.
