Confirmation of the name change, which will become effective starting January 3, came in an announcement on the property web site saying “Same fame. New name.”
The Las Vegas Hilton originally opened in 1969 as the International Hotel and it was the largest hotel in the world at that time. The race and sports book was added in 1986 and is the largest of all Las Vegas casinos.
“We are extremely excited as we move into this next phase of our journey,” executive vice president of administration Ken Ciancimino said in a statement. “Guests can experience the new look of the LVH — Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, continue to book room reservations and, more importantly, read about who we are, what we offer and other frequently asked questions.”
