“We’re glad that we know where the aberration is that is causing the decline,” said senior vice president of operations at Borgata Joe Lupo. “It’s such a singular event. That’s the business we’re in.”
This isn’t the first gambler to win extra big at an Atlantic City casino. Professional gambler Don Johnson won $2 million from the Tropicana Casino and Resort last year, causing the casino to experience revenues eight percent lower than the previous year. He also won $15.1 million from various other Atlantic City casinos from December 2010 to April 2011.
Borgata still led Atlantic City casinos in gross wins, bringing in $54 million for the month.
