The new venue, called Stage 305, will cost about cost $5 million to refurbish and remodel and will seat about 750 spectators. Stage 305 was designed with boxing in mind.
“There are no bad seats anywhere,” said Scott Savin, chief operating officer of the Florida casino. “For this first show, the least expensive seats are only 12 rows from the ring.
“We have a venue nobody can equal. There are no columns. The sightlines are fantastic.”
The venue’s January 4th event will be headlined by a fight between unbeaten junior-lightweight contenders Rances Barthelemy of Miami and Canada’s Arash Usmanee which will be broadcast as part of ESPN2’s Friday Night Fights Series.
