“I want to thank those of you who have supported us through this process,” said casino president Kevin Preston. “It’s been one of those things that today you can believe it’s really happening.”
The casino opened at 2 p.m. for a tour for invited guests and at 4 p.m. for the public, but guests were waiting outside the Mississippi casino as early at 9 a.m. Over 550 people had entered the casino by 5:20 p.m.
The 45,000-square-foot casino features 580 slot machines, 10 table games, a bar with 27 poker games, a restaurant and a buffet. The casino will hold a grand opening celebration on January 17.
