Maryland Senate Votes to Allow Table Games, Plus a New Casino

The current bill would allow the new Prince George’s County casino to have table games, as well as 4,750 gaming machines.

Those who support the bill say it will bring gamblers to the state and create more tax revenue, while opponents say the state is getting ahead of itself by expanding its gambling program before it has even begun.

It is estimated that a casino in Prince George’s County will generate about $25 million for the state each year.
