Maryland Voters May Decide To Allow Casino Table Games in November Referendum
“We’re having discussions with all of them about what their schedules might be,” said Martino after last week's State Lottery Commission meeting.
At the meeting, the commission also discussed the request by Hollywood Casino Perryville to remove between 400 and 500 slot machines from its gaming venue, plus the beginning of construction on Harrah's Baltimore casino in the second quarter of 2013.
If state voters approve a November 6 referendum allowing casinos to add Las Vegas-style table games, Maryland
casinos may have the games up and running by January 2013.
According to Maryland Lottery Director Stephen Martino, January is when the rules should be in place to regulate table games such as poker and blackjack in the state. Whether or not the casinos will be ready for table games by then will be dependent them.
