Mesquite Gaming LLC received approval to operate the Casa Blanca Resort & Casino, the Casa Blanca Golf Course with its restaurant and service bar, the Virgin River Hotel-Casino & Bingo and have control over the closed Oasis. Anthony Toti, chief executive officer of the new company, told the commission that Mesquite Gaming would continue to target Las Vegas and Utah residents.
The commission also approved the licensing of five board members for Mesquite Gaming, including Randy Black, Anthony Toti; Timothy T. Janszen and Ryan Langdon for Newport Global Advisors LP; and Katherine Banuelos to represent the family of South Point Hotel & Casino owner, Michael Gaughan.
Under the new company’s structure, Newport Global Advisors LP of Woodland, Texas, will have a 40% stake of Mesquite Gaming, while South Point owner Michael Gaughan and his family, will own a 25% stake plus the operation of the race and sports books at the Mesquite casinos. Anthony Toti, CEO of Mesquite Gaming, would own 25% and Randy Black 10% of the company.
The approval comes two weeks after the Gaming Control Board recommended licensing the company formed following Black Gaming’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in March, 2010.
