Last year, Christie claimed that an online gaming bill would contradict a state law that permits gambling only in Atlantic City, with exceptions for horse racing and the lottery. Those who support the bill are hoping that having the electronic servers that complete the betting process located in Atlantic City would make it acceptable.

It is unknown if this will change the Governor’s stance on the bill.

New Jersey is currently trying to beat both Nevada and California in the race to be the first state to offer this type of online gaming.
