New York Governor Signs Bill Expanding Casino Gambling in State

The bill will allow for new video slot machine parlors in Nassau and Suffolk counties and, pending approval in a statewide referendum this fall, will add four upstate New York casinos.

“This new law will bring the state one step closer to establishing world-class destination gaming resorts that will attract tourists to upstate New York and support thousands of good-paying jobs, as well as new revenue for local businesses,” said Cuomo in a statement.

If approved by voters, the bill will allow for four upstate casinos in Catskills-Hudson Valley, Capital Region and Southern Tier.
