Ivey won the large amount after playing  Punto Banco, a variation of baccarat, for over seven hours. Crockfords Casino then informed authorities they would be withholding Ivey’s payment due to suspicious activity.
The casino did not say what Ivey was accused of, but the woman he was accompanied by was suspended from another London casino.

Crockfords Casino is owned by Malaysia-based Genting Group, which also owns Resorts World New York and is currently working on opening Resorts World Las Vegas on the Strip.
