The $35.5 million project will also include the addition of a beachfront Margaritaville restaurant as well as a tropical-themed section of the casino floor and various other Margaritaville-themed features.

Operations at the casino were recently taken over by Connecticut-based Mohegan Sun, which owns and operates and the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Pennsylvania and  Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut.

“I firmly believe this property is going to turn a lot of heads in Atlantic City this summer, with all of the new amenities and a redone casino floor. It’s going to be quite beautiful,” said Mohegan Sun’s chief executive officer Mitchell Etess.

Although there were some delays due to Hurricane Sandy, the updates to the property should be completed by Memorial Day weekend 2013.
