Thanks to this new agreement, Monmouth Park’s marquee event, the Haskell Invitational scheduled on July 31st, is now officially called the Resorts Haskell Invitational.

“The Haskell is one of horse racing’s most prestigious events, and we are excited to have the new Resorts as the host sponsor. It’s a natural fit to have two of New Jersey’s premier gaming and entertainment destinations combine for what is sure to be one of the most exciting races of the year.” said Resorts Owner, President & C.E.O. Dennis C. Gomes.

Gomes and New York real estate developer Morris Bailey purchased Resorts Casino & Hotel last year with plans to revamp the historic Atlantic City casino. Bailey recently took over the operation of Monmouth Park after getting the approval to execute a five-year lease with the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority. Located one mile from the Atlantic Ocean in Oceanport, New Jersey., Monmouth Park is one of the top Thoroughbred racetracks in the nation.  Opened in 1946, the race track has been a fixture for pari-mutuel wagering in New Jersey and more recently a popular destination for locals and visitors alike.

“Monmouth is honored to attach the Resorts name to our greatest race. With five champions having run in the last four editions, the Haskell has become a key stepping stone on the path to year-end Eclipse honors.” said Bob Kulina, vice president and general manager of Monmouth Park.
